Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) is in turmoil for and against student politics inside the campus. A group of students protested in the campus by boycotting classes and exams. The general students are protesting in the campus with an ultimatum of permanent expulsion of 6 student including Imtiaz for breaking the rules and cooperating in initiating political activities. As a result, the term examination is postponed. All the university bound transports came empty.

Consequently, there is silence in the campus which was bustling with students. No student was seen in the academic building area of the university. But the office was open. Official works went on.

On the third day of the movement, the leaders and activists of Chhatra League Dhaka Metropolitan North and South, Dhaka University and public and private college branches gathered at Central Shaheed Minar from 9 am on Sunday, March 31 demanding the resumption of student politics in BUET. However, even though the students agitating for the 6 demands for safe BUET was scheduled to gather at Shahid Minar from 7 am on the third day, but did not start the movement until 11:30 pm.

It may be noted that, on March 28, after the presence of BCL Central Committee President Saddam Hossain and a group of leaders and activists at BUET, the BUET campus became turbulent again. General students say that although student politics is prohibited on the campus, the members of the Chhatra League brought outsiders and organized a program on the campus last Wednesday midnight. Due to which they started protest by boycotting the classes and examinations.

Chhatra League has called a rally today claiming that the BUET administration's ban on student politics is illegal and unconstitutional and the cancellation of the hall seat of Central Committee member Imtiaz Hossain Abir is unfair. Under the condition of anonymity, the protesting students for Safe BUET said that according to yesterday's announcement, they were supposed to go on the protest from seven o'clock in the morning, but they did not enter the field today due to unavoidable reasons like security issues. However, as per the announcement, the boycott of all academic activities including term final exams continues today. They may hold a press conference at BUET Shaheed Minar in the afternoon. They will give their speech there.
